On April 8th, news came from the Power Equipment Research Institute that after continuous scientific research and development, the company's independently developed high-power gas power equipment L20V200 gas genset has made breakthrough progress in key performance indicators - the genset's electrical efficiency has reached 42%, taking a solid step towards the high-end, green, and intelligent development of domestic equipment manufacturing.

Electric efficiency is the 'soul indicator' of gas genset, which represents how much of the gas burned by the genset is truly converted into electricity rather than ultimately wasted. "Researcher Zhao Erlan said that electric efficiency represents the effective proportion of the genset's conversion of the heat energy generated by gas combustion into electrical energy, and is the key to measuring the performance of the unit, directly related to the economic, environmental, sustainable, and safety of the product.

“The electric efficiency of 40% has always been the industry threshold for high-power gas power generation products for non road use, and there are very few products in the industry that can break through this indicator, "Zhao Erlan said.

In recent years, the company has solidly implemented the development requirements of CNPC for its affiliated equipment manufacturing enterprises to "deepen the promotion of intelligent manufacturing and green manufacturing, strengthen the localization and iterative upgrading of key equipment, and forge more energy equipment 'national heavy weapons'". Focusing on the market and benchmarking first-class, the company has comprehensively promoted scientific research and innovation, and focused on creating engine "flagship products". Based on the existing mature gas gensets, the company has developed 200 series gas generator set with stronger power and better economy, which can adapt to different gas sources such as natural gas, biogas, and coal methane gas, and continuously polished and improved product performance.

Compared to the previous 190 gas engine products, the cylinder diameter and stroke of the 200 series have increased, the power has exceeded 2 megawatts, and the electrical efficiency index must also 'keep up'.

Zhao Erlan stated that in order to further develop a competitive gas power generation "weapon" in the market, the company has focused on key indicators and continuously tackled them. A series of design optimizations and technological innovations have been carried out in the combustion organization, valve timing, intake and exhaust systems, and boost matching of the L20V200 high-power natural gas engine, which has promoted the product's electrical efficiency from 38% to 42%, reaching the international advanced level.
